This is a first, BMW building a plug-in hybrid? Who saw that coming? BWM really aimed for reducing weight, the car is basically carbon-fiber and aluminum (some cell foam) and still ways 3285 lbs which is thanks to its 7.1 kWh lithium-ion battery. The car has a 1.5 liter hybrid I-3 with a combined 358 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque. Its 0-60 time is 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph. It is AWD with a 6-speed automatic. The BWM's has an estimated 94 mpg and a $125,000 price tag. But you will have to wait till 2014 to get one.
