The New 2014 C7 Corvette Stingray
Sorry about the lack of posts lately but now I am all caught up and just got the new Road and Track (actually I got 2 magazines). So expect a lot of cars coming your way in the next week. Anyway on to the new Corvette. And yes, it is a Stingray a name they used 1969 to 1977. This car is Chevy's fastest base model Corvette to date reaching around, I am actually not sure because it wont tell me its freaking speed!!! They did come out with a new engine fore this 'vette its a 450 hp, 450 lb ft , 6.2 liter, V-8 LT1. It has cylinder deactivation that takes the engine down to a 3.1 liter V-4 but who wants to do that? I mean seriously this is a Corvette its made to go fast and suck down fuel! Although this Corvette does get 28 mpg, that's 2 mpg higher than the last one. The base Stingray turns out faster test laps than the C6 Grand Sport before it and it out corners it by over 1g of lateral acceleration. This Corvette has their most powerful base braking system ever with its standard Brembo brakes with four-piston calipers. The base Stingray will be more expensive at around $56,000, but that is $5,000 cheaper than a Porsche Boxster S. If you want to rush to a dealer and get one right now, bad news you will have to wait till fall to buy one.
